This week I have been working with students who have not met mastery with number recognition and one-to-one correspondence for the numbers 1-20. We have been writing and drawing in the sand as well as stomping numbers out with our feet as we read flash cards. It has been fun and I have seen a huge improvement over the past 3 days.
I have also been working in the art center. This week’s theme is recycling. My classroom teachers and I collaborated to pick a theme for the bulletin board. We settled on the song, “What a Wonderful World” and titled it “What a Wonderful Recycled World.” The kids have made butterflies, flowers, caterpillars, lady bugs, clouds, birds, bees, and a sun out of egg cartons, coke bottles, cereal boxes, and newspaper. When the board is finished, I will post a picture.
